FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University men's basketball program has signed five student-athletes to its 2026 recruiting class, head coach David Richman announced Wednesday.
Amir Danforth, Max Iversen, Oliver Junker, Chance Schoenfeld, and Colin Stack have signed to continue their education and compete at North Dakota State.
Danforth is a 6-foot-1 guard from Rockford, Ill., and Rockford Auburn HS. An all-conference and honorable mention all-state selection, he has scored 1,572 career points and holds the school single-game scoring record with a 44-point game as a junior. Danforth led the NIC-10 Conference in scoring last season with 20.4 points per game, including 111 made three-pointers at a 37-percent clip.
"We are thrilled to add Amir and his family to the Bison Family," Richman said. "We identified Amir very early in the recruiting process because of his toughness, skill and personality. We know these traits will make him a terrific Bison and we can't wait to get him on campus."
Iversen is a 6-foot-4 guard from Loretto, Minn., and Maple Grove HS. He averaged 24.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a junior for Delano HS.
"Max is a true hooper that has a contagious, positive energy to him," said Richman. "His competitive nature, character and personality will be a great fit with our Bison Family."
Junker is a 6-foot-8 forward from Littleton, Colo., and Mountain Vista HS. He averaged 15.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game as a junior, earning first team all-conference and second-team all-state honors. Junker also set the Mountain Vista school record for rebounds in a season.
"Oliver plays with a tremendous motor and has a strong drive to compete at his very best," Richman said. "His tough style of play brings energy to his teammates, and he's got the upside to develop into a special player."
Schoenfeld is a 6-foot-7 forward from Astoria, S.D., and Deubrook HS. He averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds per contest as a junior last season, earning All-Dakota Valley Conference recognition.
"Chance is a long, lanky athlete who still has his best basketball ahead of him. We look forward to him joining the Bison Family and growing at the next level," said Richman.
Stack is a 7-foot forward from St. Charles, Ill., and Benet Academy. He helped lead Benet to a Class 4A state championship last year, averaging 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game. Stack shot 64 percent overall and 39 percent from beyond the arc.
"Colin is a rare combination of size, skill, and unlimited potential," Richman said. "He comes from both a talented basketball family and a state championship high school program, and we're excited about what he can bring to our team."
