NDSU Volleyball Adds Six on Signing Day

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State volleyball head coach Jennifer Lopez has announced the addition of six student-athletes on signing day.

Allie Collins, Morgan Engel, Aryn Heeke, Courtney Peters, Malayna Syverson, and Kendall Worwa will join the Bison in the fall of 2026.

"We're extremely excited to announce our 2026 signing class," said Lopez. "This group of six women are competitive, gritty, and have been a joy to get to know throughout their recruiting processes. We're thrilled to welcome them and their families to the Bison Family."

Collins was a four-year letterwinner at Golden High School and has totaled 186 kills, 68 digs and 42 total blocks in her senior season as a middle blocker. The Golden, Colo., native was named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention list in her junior season.

"Allie is a dynamic middle blocker that is very physical in her offensive and defensive games," said Lopez. "She can attack from any position along the net and has the ability to make an impact in many areas along the front row. She is a smooth mover along the net and is just as fearless competitor."

Engel was a four-year letterwinner at Ada-Borup-West High School and has appeared in 77 sets with 397 assists, 358 digs and 339 kills in her senior season as a setter and outside hitter. The Ada, Minn., native earned All-State honors in her junior season and was a three-time All-Conference selection. Her mother, Janna, played at NDSU from 1996-99 and was recently inducted into the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame earlier this fall.

"Morgan is a versatile setter and attacker who has the ability to score in both aspects of her positional game. She has been a local, lifelong Bison Fan and we were thrilled she chose to carry on the family legacy and tradition at NDSU."

Heeke is a four-year letterwinner at Silver Creek High School and appeared in 88 sets with 280 digs, 87 kills and a team-high 61 aces as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. The Sellersburg, Ind., native was a two-time All-Conference Honorable Mention selection and earned All-District honors in her junior season.

"Aryn is a gritty defender that has great range and an ability to read and process the game at an extremely high level," said Lopez. "She plays for one of the top club programs in Kentucky and is going to be a great addition to our competitive libero group''.

Peters was a four-year letterwinner at Stillwater Area High School and has totaled 292 kills with 166 digs, 38 aces and 22 total blocks in her senior season as an outside hitter. The Stillwater, Minn., native earned All-Conference honors in her junior season and was selected to the All-Conference Honorable Mention list in her sophomore season.

"Courtney is an athletic and dynamic 6-rotation pin, that has a large toolbox in her offensive game. She is a competitor through and through and is going to elevate the intensity of those around her, while also bringing a lot of energy and personality to the gym".

Syverson was a four-year letterwinner at Ada-Borup-West High School and appeared in 79 sets with 342 kills, 266 assists, 224 digs and 46 total blocks as an outside hitter. The Ada, Minn., native was a two-time Pine-to-Prairie All-Conference selection. Syverson is the second player in the signing class from Ada-Borup-West High School and was high school teammates Morgan Engel.

"Malayna is a versatile attacker, who is going to bring incredible length and size to our front court," said Lopez. "Her experience in playing all positions along the front row is going to bring a unique skillset to her position groups. She is a solid blocker and has the ability to make a significant impact in our defensive system".

Worwa was a four-year letterwinner at Woodburry High School and appeared in 84 sets with 287 kills, 85 total blocks and 40 digs in her senior season as a middle blocker. The Cottage Grove, Minn., native was a two-time All-Conference selection and was named the Offensive Player of the Year in her junior season.

"Kendall is a talented middle blocker that adds athleticism and length to our middles group," said Lopez. "Her personality is infectious and is someone our fans are going to love connecting with. She plays for one of the top clubs in Minnesota and has competed at a really high level. Her athleticism allows for her to attack in multiple zones across the net, which provides a lot of options and depth to our middles and pin position groups".
