SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second straight week and third time this season, junior forward
Avery Koenen has been named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Koenen helped the Bison (10-2) extend their win streak to eight games after topping Pepperdine and UTRV at the Malibu Classic last week. She averaged 20.0 points with 11.0 rebounds per contest to go along with a team-high seven assists, three steals and one block.
Koenen recorded a season-best 29 points and game-high 12 rebounds in the 82-80 overtime win over Pepperdine. The Montevideo, Minn., native drained a career-high 13 free throws on 16 attempts with two assists and two steals over 38 minutes against the Waves. Her 13 made free throws are tied for the sixth-most in a single-game in Bison history.
Koenen closed the trip pushing her double-double streak to six games with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the 82-60 win over UTRGV.
