NDSU Women’s Basketball Cruises Past Saint Mary’s, 94-36

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's basketball team wrapped up non-conference play cruising past Saint Mary's, 94-36, on Monday night inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
With the win, the Bison improved to 11-2 overall on the season and extended their win streak to nine games. It marks the longest win streak for NDSU since the 2004-05 season when the Bison won 24 straight.
Avery Koenen posted a game-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field with seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Marisa Frost added in 14 points with a season-best five steals, while Jocelyn Schiller contributed 12 points with four assists. Abby Krzewinski (11) and Karrington Asp (10) also hit double figures in scoring.
As a team, the Bison shot 59.7 percent (37-62) from the field and 82.4 percent (14-17) from the free throw line. NDSU scored a season-best 60 points in the paint with nine different players reaching the scoring column.
The Bison used a fast start closing the opening frame with 18 straight points, including six points from Koenen to grab a 22-2 lead after the first quarter. The 18-0 run marked the longest run of the season and spanned just over seven minutes. NDSU, who never trailed in the contest, went on to pick up the 94-36 victory.
NDSU will be back in action to begin Summit League play at Oral Roberts on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
