NDSU Women’s Basketball Stumbles at Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. – Four Bison reached double digits in scoring as the North Dakota State women's basketball team fell short at Oral Roberts, 100-84, on Saturday afternoon at Mabee Center.
Avery Koenen notched her seventh double-double of the season with a team-best 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Molly Lenz contributed 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field. Claire Stern added a season-best 16 points and Abby Graham added a season-high 12 points off the bench.
As a team, the Bison (17-10, 9-5 Summit) shot 50.0 percent (29-58) from the field and 90.9 percent (20-22) from the free throw line. NDSU scored 34 points in the paint and the bench added in 40 points.
The Golden Eagles (22-6, 12-3 Summit) ran out to a 14-5 advantage in the first four minutes of the game with a layup from Emily Robinson with 5:40 on the clock. Oral Roberts went on to shoot 73.6 percent from the field in the quarter to open up a 31-18 lead after the opening frame. The Bison, who never led in the game, couldn't overcome the slow the start and went on to drop the contest, 100-84.
NDSU will be back in action hosting Kansas City on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
