FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team hosted the NDSU Spring Classic on Friday for the first of three home meets scheduled for the outdoor season.

Jacee Johannsen and
Julia Gherardi both cleared an outdoor personal-best of 13-05.75 (4.11m) in the pole vault, tying them for third-best in NDSU history. Johannsen won the event, while Gherardi took second.

Freshman
Nyariek Kur won the long jump with a personal-best mark of 19-11.00 (6.07m), tying her for ninth in NDSU outdoor history.

Riika Tirkkonen,
Elise Wisnewski,
Paige Renschler and
Anika Larson ran a season-best 45.51 to win the 4x100m relay. They moved up to fifth-fastest in NDSU history. In a wind-aided 100m dash, Larson clocked 11.50 for second, and Wisnewski finished third in 11.63.

Adison Kapitzke won the shot put with an outdoor personal-best throw of 48-08.00 (14.83m). Unattached Bison
Riley Quinn was second at 47-02.25 (14.38m).

Acey Elkins won the 800m in 2:16.28.

Kendal Stingle ran a personal-best 1:02.11 in the 400m hurdles to place second.

Sophomore
Marvelous Onwualo took second in the 100m hurdles, clocking a season-best 14.05. Freshman
Rylee Johnson was fourth in 14.37.

The Bison women finished 2-3-4 in the hammer throw with
Annabel Thorstenson at 182-0 (55.47m), Kapitzke at 177-6 (54.12m), and
Merrideth Spiers at 175-10 (53.61m). Spiers also took second in the discus with a throw of 149-1 (45.46m).

Camille Deringer posted the second-best javelin mark of her career at 132-0 (40.24m) to place third in the meet.

Jaida Fobb cleared 5-03.75 (1.62m) for second place in the high jump.
