SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - North Dakota State golfers
Jake Skarperud and
Carter White have been named the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Peak Co-Golfers of the Week, League officials announced Thursday.
Â
Skarperud and White shared third at the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha, Nebraska, as both Bison golfers carded 54-hole totals of 210 (-6) to lead NDSU to its second-straight team title to open the season. Skarperud, a senior, put together three under-par rounds with a 69, 71 and 70. White, a freshman, posted rounds of 70, 67 and 73. White's 67 was an NDSU tournament best and a career best.
Â
The duo led NDSU to a tournament score of 847 (-17), as the Bison posted a six-stroke victory over host Creighton and fellow Summit League member St. Thomas, who shared second. Skarperud and White also finished as the top Summit League golfers in the event.
Â
Thursday's honor for Skarperud is his second Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week accolade and first since March 4, 2024. It is a first honor for White. The duo become the second and third Bison golfers to scoop up the weekly accolade this season, as
Rylin Petry won the award last week, following a season-opening win for the Bison.
Â
Skarperud and White also become the fourth teammates in league history to share the Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week/Month honor, with it having been done in the 2002-03, 2018-19 and 2024-25 seasons.
Â
The Bison return to action early next week, competing at the Zach Johnson Invitational September 22-23, hosted by Drake at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa.
