FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team posted a 76-65 victory over South Dakota State on Wednesday night inside the Scheels Center, moving to 15-5 overall and 5-0 in Summit League play.
All five NDSU starters scored in double figures, led by
Treyson Anderson with 20 points for his third straight 20-point game.
Trevian Carson scored 14 points with six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Markhi Strickland finished with 12,
Damari Wheeler-Thomas had 11, and
Andy Stefonowicz added 10 points.
Wheeler-Thomas grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and three steals.
NDSU led for 38 of the game's 40 minutes. The Bison went up 35-23 at halftime, and pushed the margin to 16 at 44-28 just over two minutes into the second half. SDSU cut the deficit to six twice, but Anderson hit a three to put NDSU back up nine both times.
When the Jackrabbits pulled within five at 63-58 with 5:00 left, Anderson drilled his fourth and final three-pointer on the next possession to give the Bison an eight-point cushion.
The Bison are 5-0 in The Summit League for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
NDSU made 14-of-31 (45 percent) from three point range, compared to 9-of-26 (35 percent) beyond the arc for the Jackrabbits.
The Bison host preseason league favorite St. Thomas on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a battle of the last two remaining Summit League unbeatens.
