NDSU Wins Double-OT Slugfest over Oral Roberts, 79-77

FARGO, N.D. – Noah Feddersen scored the game-winning putback with one second left in double overtime to give the North Dakota State men's basketball team a 79-77 victory over Oral Roberts on Saturday afternoon inside the Scheels Center.
The Bison improved to 12-5 overall and 2-0 in The Summit League.
The game was tied at 57 at the end of regulation, tied at 68 at the end of the first overtime period, and was knotted at 77-77 when the Bison had the final shot in double-OT. Markhi Strickland missed a contested jumper in the lane, but Feddersen ripped down the offensive rebound and scored the putback with 1.0 second on the clock.
Oral Roberts' three-quarter-court heave hit the rim and was no good.
The contest had 21 lead changes and 15 ties.
Strickland led the Bison with 15 points, Damari Wheeler-Thomas and Trevian Carson both scored 14, and Treyson Anderson recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Carson registered eight rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.
NDSU racked up 23 offensive rebounds in the game, but was hampered by 16 turnovers and 12 missed free throws.
Wheeler-Thomas logged 46:30 of playing time to lead all players.
NDSU will go on the road in Summit League play next week, playing at Kansas City on Jan. 8 and at Omaha on Jan. 10.
