Senior Zach McGlynn broke the school record in the heptathlon and posted one of the nation's top scores this season to headline the performances of the North Dakota State men's track & field team on Saturday.
 
McGlynn (Stephen, Minn.) shattered the NDSU record in the heptathlon, scoring 5,975 points to win the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational at Missouri. He broke the previous mark set by All-American Andy Lillejord at the 2013 NCAA Championships by 182 points. McGlynn now ranks sixth in the NCAA this year.
 
McGlynn registered career-best performances in all three events contested on Saturday, running 8.18 in the 60m hurdles, clearing 17-04.50 (5.30m) in the pole vault, and clocking 2:45.88 in the 1000m.
 
The rest of the NDSU squad competed at the UND Open in Grand Forks, N.D.
 
Competing unattached, NDSU's Ethan Moe ran a personal-best 4:02.07 in the mile – the fastest ever by a Bison.
 
Freshman Joshua Kyei-Baffour won the 60m hurdles at UND in 7.98, and sophomore Brooks Turner took second in 8.04.
 
Tyler Milkes won the 200m dash in 21.62 – the second-fastest indoor time of his career.
 
Freshman Carter Reckelberg won the long jump with a mark of 24-01.75 (7.36m). Reece Grosserode took the triple jump title with a mark of 48-08.00 (14.83m).
 
Zackery Bruder ran 47.99 in the 400m dash to take second place. He is now No. 10 on the NDSU all-time indoor list.
 
Andrew Berg cleared 6-08.25 (2.04m) for second place in the high jump.
 
Jeran McNichols finished third in the 60m dash in 6.81.
 
Aiden Krause threw a personal-best 53-09.75 (16.40m) to place third in the shot put. He also registered a PR of 57-07.00 (17.55m) in the weight throw for sixth.
 
NDSU returns home next weekend to host the Bison Open on Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7.
