The Tournament Field
13 teams will compete at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. Alongside NDSU and hosts Drake, the tournament field will include North Dakota, Valparaiso, Western Illinois, Creighton, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, UW-Green Bay, Lindenwood, South Dakota, Omaha, and Eastern Illinois.
The Course
Glen Oaks Country Club, located on the southwest side of the greater Des Moines metropolitan area, opened in 1994 after being designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio. The course features long prairie grass, expansive sand traps, tree-line fairways and fantastic conditions. The course was ranked #1 in the state of Iowa by Golf Digest, and consistently ranks inside the top three in the state since then. The notoriously tricky 17th hole serves as a sticking point for many patrons. The hole plays at 467-yards from the back tees and ranks as the number one handicap hole on the course. The updated design in 2016 tempts golfers to bite off more than they can chew off the tee, forcing many errant drives that end up in trouble. New bunkers and a troubling green make the hole a daunting test for any golfer.
Last Time Out
The Bison returned to the Metropolis Intercollegiate last week, finishing in a tie for fourth with Bryant. Carter White earned his second top-five finish of the season, highlighted by his hole-in-one in round two. He carded another eagle that day and fired four birdies in round three on his way to an even-par 70. Andrew Ballou earned his first top 10 finish of the season with a tie for sixth. He fired three birdies and an eagle in the final round to match White with an even-par 70. Joey Mackinac carded a two-under 33 on the front nine in the final round to earn his first top 20 finish of the year.
Bison In Iowa
The Bison return to the Zach Johnson invitational for the second straight year, where they finished in fourth place in 2025. Jake Skarperud carded rounds of 71, 69 and 69 on his way to a solo second place, while Andrew Ballou and Rylin Petry collected top-12 finishes at four-over par. The Bison have also competed at the tournament three other times since 2020, finishing in second in 2023 and grabbing wins in 2022 and 2021.

Six golfers will travel down to West Des Moines for the tournament. The Bison lineup will include Peyton Albers, Andrew Ballou, Carter White, Henry Johnson, Joey Mackinac and Sean Moore.
Not Once, But Twice

White previously earned the honors in the opening week of the season for NDSU, when he collected his first career collegiate victory at the ANF Fall Classic.
Hot Start
