SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the seventh time this season, junior forward
Avery Koenen has been named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Koenen helped the Bison (22-2, 11-0 Summit) stay unbeaten in Summit League play with wins at Kansas City and Omaha last week. The Montevideo, Minn., native averaged 11.5 points with 11.0 rebounds per game to go along with five assists, four blocks and two steals.
Koenen grabbed a game-best 15 rebounds with seven points, two steals, two assists and one block in the win at Kansas City after missing a portion of the game with an injury. She closed the week with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the win at Omaha.
Koenen ranks in the top 10 nationally in double-doubles (2nd, 16), field goal percentage (3rd, 65.0), free throw attempts (4th, 173), defensive rebounds per game (8th, 8.5) and rebounds (9th, 266).
The Bison will be back in action at North Dakota on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
