Bison Win 3rd Straight in Brookings, 74-66 over Jackrabbits

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team used a late first-half run to turn the momentum and earn a 74-66 road victory over South Dakota State on Wednesday night.
NDSU improved to 22-6 overall and 12-1 in The Summit League to remain in first place. It was the 10th road win of the season for the Bison, matching a school record set in 2008-09 and 2013-14.
NDSU's Damari Wheeler-Thomas led all players with 23 points. Noah Feddersen scored 19, with 17 coming in the first half. Trevian Carson pulled down 12 rebounds, Andy Stefonowicz recorded four steals, and they both tallied four assists.
The Bison closed the first half on a 12-2 run, turning a 32-25 deficit into a 37-34 lead at the break. Feddersen scored 10 straight points to key the NDSU run.
South Dakota State pulled within one on three different occasions in the second half – the last time at 52-51 with 9:00 left – but the Bison never relinquished the lead.
NDSU shot 48 percent for the game and committed only five turnovers.
The Bison have now won three straight games in Brookings for the first time since 2010. NDSU's 12-1 record in league play matches its best 13-game start in the Summit League era.
NDSU hosts Kansas City on Saturday at 1 p.m.
