NDSU Baseball Drops Wednesday Midweek at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The North Dakota State baseball team fell short at Nebraska, 11-1, on Wednesday night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.

Caleb Corbin put the Bison (2-14) on the board with a leadoff home run on the first pitch to left field to make the score 1-0 in the first inning. Nebraska (11-5) answered in the second frame pushing across six runs on three hits to steal the lead, 6-1, after Preston Freeman delivered an RBI groundout. The Huskers then took advantage of three Bison errors over the next three innings to extend the lead to 10-1 after Case Anderson scored on passed ball. Nebraska went on to pick up the 11-1 run-rule win in seven innings.

The Bison used a combined seven pitchers in the contest with Matthew Totten (0-2) making the start with one strikeout over 1.1 frames. Braden Gluth, Hudson Hart and Chris Billings, who made his Bison debut, each added one strikeout apiece.

NDSU will be back in action at Omaha to open Summit League play on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
