LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The North Dakota State men's golf team finished the final round of play at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate at Wigwam Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Rylin Petry (68-73-76—217) finished as the highest placing Bison for the event. Petry carded two birdies and ten holes at par to finish +4 on the day. The senior landed in a tie for 29
th place at +1 overall.
Jake Skarperud (75-71-75—221) opened the final round with an eagle on the first hole. Skarperud was even through 12 holes with a birdie on hole 14 to finish +3 on the day, and +5 overall in a tie for 47
th.
Gabe Benson (73-80-74—227) and
Andrew Ballou (77-74-76—227) wrap up the scoring golfers for NDSU on the final day of the tournament. Benson picked up three birdies and 12 holes at par to record the best Bison round of the day of +2. Ballou carded two more birdies and was even through 11 holes to finish +4 on the day. The pair finished in a tie for 73
rd at +11 overall.
Max Wilson (71-82-77—230) was the final Bison golfer for the tournament. Wilson added three birdies to finish +5 in the final round and +14 overall in 82
nd place.
As a team, the Bison (287-298-301—886) recorded a round of +13 to finish in 14
th place at +22 overall.
The Bison men will have a full week off before returning to action at the Racer Intercollegiate. Hosted by Murray State, the event will take place at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky, on April 6-7.
