NDSU Women’s Golf Posts Record-Setting Day at Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Madi Hicks fired the lowest individual 54-hole score in program history to help the North Dakota State women's golf team record the lowest 54-hole score in school history at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate at Wigwam Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Hicks (67-69-69—205) recorded her third consecutive round below par to conclude the tournament. The senior fired six more birdies and an eagle on the final hole to finish -2 on the day. Hicks finished as the runner-up for the event at -8 overall, improving her career-low by seven shots to now holds the lowest 54-hole score in NDSU history.

Avery Bartels (70-69-70—209) also recorded a third consecutive round below par to finish the event. Bartels added six more birdies in the final round to record a team-high 15 birdies for the event and end -1 on the day. The sophomore climbed three spots up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for seventh at -4, improving her career-best 54-hole score by six strokes to now hold the second lowest individual 54-hole score in program history.

Cora Larson (69-75-71—215) carded a final round at an even-par to finish inside the top 25. Larson tallied four birdies and 11 holes at par in the third round to climb three spots up the leaderboard and land in a tie for 25th at +2, matching her career-best 54-hole score.

Norah Roberts (74-71-72—217) and Jeri Lafleche (71-74-72—217) scored matching rounds of +1 to maintain their tie after the final round. Roberts picked up two birdies and 13 holes at par in the third round to improve her season-best 54-hole score by one stroke. Lafleche added five more birdies to improve her career-best 54-hole score by nine shots. The pair climbed two spots up the leaderboard to land in a tie for 30th at +4 overall.

Hannah Dunk (74-72-72—218) was the final Bison for the event. Dunk, who played as an individual, was even through 11 holes with three birdies to card a final round of +1 to end +5 in a tie for 36th.

Together, NDSU (277-283-282—842) recorded a third consecutive round below par to shatter the program record for lowest team 54-hole tournament by 18 shots. The Bison finished -2 on the day and -10 overall to secure fourth place.

The women's golf team will have two full weeks off before returning to action at the Bobcat Desert Classic, which will take place at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona on April 13-15.
