PADUCAH, Ky. – North Dakota State men's golf wrapped up the Racer Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Country Club of Paducah, taking second overall, climbing two spots in the final round.
 
Rylin Petry and Carter White led the way for the Bison on the day, posting final rounds of 70.
 
Petry started off the day strong with a birdie on the opening hole, followed by seven-straight pars before a second birdie to close the front nine. He would then add another par and a birdie on hole 11 before his first bogey. He would then add four more pars before a bogey and birdie over the final two holes to climb to a fifth-place finish at -2 for the event.
 
White started the day at even par through his first nine holes with seven pars, a bogey and a birdie. The freshman then worked up the leaderboard over the final nine holes, climbing to a 12^th place finish at even par after three birdies and five pars over his back nine, including birdies on two of the last three holes.
 
Jake Skarperud led the way for the Bison overall in the tournament, taking fourth overall after finish at -3 for the 54-hole event. After a birdie to start on one, Skarperud had a double bogey and two bogeys over the next five holes. However, Skarperud settled in with three pars to close the front nine, before back-to-back birdies to begin the back nine. He would close out the round with one more birdie and bogey, along with five pars to finish the day at +1.
 
Gabe Benson wrapped up the scoring for the Bison on the day, finishing with a +4 round of 76, Benson carded a birdie and 13 pars in the round to finish at +8 in a tie for 49^th. Andrew Ballou also finished at +8 for the event, tying with Benson after a +6 round on the final day. Ballou had one birdie and 11 pars on the day.
 
Joey Mackinac, playing as an individual, wrapped up his first 54-hole tournament for the Bison with a +2 round of 74 on the final day. Mackinac carded three birdies in the round to climb seven spots and finish in 27^th overall.
 
Following the Racer Intercollegiate, the NDSU men's golf team will head to their final regular season tournament for the 2025-26 season. The Bison will return to the Hawkeye Invitational, which will be hosted by Iowa at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa on April 20-21.
