NDSU Men’s Basketball Signs Rob Diaz III

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball program has signed transfer Rob Diaz III to its 2026 recruiting class, head coach David Richman announced Monday, May 11.
Diaz is a 6-foot-2 guard from Long Beach, Calif., who played last season at Long Beach State.
"We are excited to add Rob to our Bison Family," said Richman. "His ability to score, value the basketball, and defend at a high level fit exactly what we were looking for in this position."
Diaz played in all 32 games and made 14 starts for Long Beach State this past season, leading the team with 83 assists and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.5. He averaged 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, and posted 33 points and 12 rebounds in a game against UC Davis this March.
Diaz played his first two collegiate seasons at Division II Cal Poly Humboldt from 2023-25, leading the team in scoring as a freshman and sophomore (16 ppg) to earn first-team all-conference honors. In all, he has scored more than 1,000 points over the past three seasons.
NDSU swept the 2026 Summit League regular season and tournament championships and earned its sixth NCAA Tournament berth since 2009.
