Reckelberg Competing for Team USA at World Athletics U20 Championships

North Dakota State University jumper Carter Reckelberg has been selected to Team USA in the long jump for the World Athletics U20 Championships.

The World Athletics U20 Championships will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., this week. The preliminary qualifying round of the long jump is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. CT / 12:45 p.m. PT on Friday, Aug. 7, with the finals to follow at 9:25 p.m. CT / 7:25 p.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Reckelberg (Becker, Minn.) qualified by virtue of his long jump mark of 24-11.75 (7.61m) during the 2026 collegiate indoor season – a jump that ranked him third in NDSU history as only a freshman. He won the Summit League indoor title in the long jump and was named the Newcomer of the Championship.

This year's U20 World Championships are open to athletes born in 2007 or later, with a maximum of two entries per country in each event.
