Bison Women Take 3rd at Griak for Top Finish in D-I Era

FORT SNELLING, Minn. – The North Dakota State women's cross country team took third place at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning. It was the highest team finish for the Bison at Griak in the school's Division I era.
NDSU was led by Jade Rypkema, who placed sixth overall in a time of 20:05.4 for the six-kilometer course. Rypkema's 6k was the second-fastest in school history behind only Reagan Baesler's 20:02.3 at the Summit League Championships last year.
Minnesota captured the team title with 26 points, Boise State was second with 45, and the Bison finished third with 95.
Logan Harz placed 18th in 20:40.1, Reagan Berg took 23rd in 20:47.6, and Mia Hoffmann was 27th in 20:52.5. Bison freshman Hannah Boese completed the team scoring for NDSU in 30th place with a time of 21:00.9.
NDSU's Kylie Nelson was 40th overall in 21:12.4, and Julia Link was 54th in 21:24.9.
The 6k times from Harz and Berg both also rank among the top 20 in NDSU history.
The Roy Griak Invitational made the move to Fort Snelling Golf Course this season after 39 years at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
