Basketball Season Ticket FAQs
What if I want to sit with a group of people?
Multiple accounts may be seated together by request. Those who wish to sit together must submit the Group Seating Request Form by August 1, 2016. The group’s appointment time will be assigned based on the lowest point total of all the group members. Submitting a group request will ensure all group members will have their seat selection appointment scheduled for the same time so you may choose your seats together. Each group member must submit a request and will receive notification of the appointment.
How will the seat selection process work?
Fans will be assigned a 10-minute selection period. At the fan’s assigned time, he/she will be escorted into the arena for their seat selection. We will have detailed maps of every section with specific rows and seats shown. When a seat has been selected it will be crossed out so that other fans are not able to select that same location. During your selection time, Athletics staff members will be there to answer any questions you have and assist with checkout.
Season ticket holders will not be able to choose a seat location that strands a single seat in a row. This policy protects against leaving unsellable single seats.
How are the seat selection appointments assigned?
Seat selection appointments will be assigned to current basketball season ticket holders first, then to those who are requesting new season tickets. Each group will be ranked in priority point order and selection times will be determined from highest to lowest point total within each group. Your point total as of July 29 will be used to determine your selection time.
How long will I have to select my seats?
Each appointment will be 10 minutes and represents the earliest date and time that you can select seats in the new arena. You may take as long as you wish to select seats. However, each 10 minutes another group of fans will be admitted to the arena and allowed to select their seats.
How will I be notified about my Seat Selection Appointment?
Seat selection appointments will be emailed and sent via U.S. Postal Mail on Friday, August 19.
Why are we selecting seats this way?
There are multiple reasons. First, with the renovation of the Scheels Center at the SHAC, reseating of the arena was needed as the sections, rows, and seats all changed from the past configuration. Second, we believe that this method of choosing seats is a more transparent and fan-friendly way of choosing seats, while still abiding by the Priority Point system. The Priority Point system was established to promote fairness, reward the loyalty of long-time supporters, and encourage current and future contributors to give to Bison Athletics.
What if I am unable to make my appointment time?
If you are unable to attend at your assigned appointment time, you can delegate another individual to make your selection for you. If that is not possible, you will be given the opportunity to provide the ticket office with your top preferences for seating locations in the new arena. Then, at your assigned time, seats will be selected for you. Details will be included with your appointment information.
Do I have to pay for my season tickets and Team Makers seating obligation at the time of my selection?
Yes. Once you have selected where you would like to sit, you will be able to pay for both the Team Makers seating obligation and season tickets upon check-out (payment plans will be available).
If I already have a Team Maker Membership, do I have to pay additional dues for basketball?
Yes. If your current membership includes only a football seating obligation, you will need to pay an additional seating obligation for your basketball season tickets. However, if your membership has money designated to the Team Makers scholarship fund, we can apply that dollar amount to your basketball seating obligation.
How many seats can I choose during my selection appointment?
During your designated selection appointment you will be able to select up to the same number of seats that you held during the 2015-16 season. Additional seats may be available after all 2015-16 season ticket holders have been seated. Please complete the Additional Ticket Request Form to submit your request.
How can I improve my rank and position myself to choose the best available seat location?
Increasing your priority point total is the best way to improve your position for seat selection. The easiest way to accrue points is by making donations directly to the NDSU Athletic Department. All donations received by July 29 will be counted towards your point total.
How are appointments determined if I have the same point total as another donor?
In this scenario, seat selection appointment times will be assigned based on the following priority.
If I have men’s basketball season tickets, can I add women’s basketball season tickets when I select my seats?
Based on availability, there will be opportunities to request the addition of Women’s Basketball season tickets. Similar to the process for additional men’s basketball season tickets, all new requests for women’s basketball will be seated after the 2015-16 women’s basketball season ticket holders have been assigned. Please complete the Additional Ticket Request Form to submit your request.
If I have both men’s and women’s season tickets, will I receive two different selection appointments?
No, you will have an opportunity to select seats for Women’s Basketball during the same selection appointment for Men’s Basketball.
A group of us currently have tickets under the same account. Can we split the tickets into individual accounts at checkout?
All season tickets are subject to the current NDSU Athletics seat transfer policy. The only transfers that will be approved are transfers to immediate family members (i.e. parent – child, sibling – sibling, etc.)
