Jared Swanson is in his second season as the director of men's basketball operations at North Dakota State. He came from Boise State, where he was an administrative assistant for the men's basketball program for one year.
Swanson, a native of Morris, Minn., played two seasons at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls from 1998-00 and was an all-state and all-region pick.
He played from 2001-03 at Concordia College in Moorhead, where he made the all-MIAC first team as the Cobbers' leading scorer (15.7 ppg) and rebounder (5.5 rpg) his senior year. He ranked 15th in the nation in field goal shooting percentage (.607).
Swanson went on to a professional career in Australia where he played four seasons for Warrnambool, Shepparton and Southern Peninsula from 2005-08. He was a two-time league MVP and three-time all-star.
He was the varsity assitant coach for Heritage High School in Vancouver, Wash., in 2008-09 and head varsity coach at Payson High School in Payson, Ariz., in 2009-10.
Swanson earned a bachelor's degree in social studies education from Concordia in 2003 and completed a master's degree in athletic administration from Idaho State in 2011.
He and his wife, Jessica, are the parents of one son, Jett.
