Mortimer joined NDSU prior to the 2026 season after working as a student assistant coach at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Mortimer helped the Blugolds to a 30-5 overall record last season and advanced to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight. He assisted with planning practices along with recruiting and daily support. Mortimer was also a member of the Eau Claire men’s club volleyball team and won two national championships. He began his collegiate career spending one season on the men’s volleyball team at Maryville in St. Louis, Mo.
He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with his bachelor's in operations and supply chain management.
