Troy Goergen was named Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations at North Dakota State University in July 2015. He is the sport administrator for women's soccer, men's golf and women's golf.
Goergen manages the department's more than 40 local, regional and national corporate partnerships, and administers NDSU's licensing and trademark program along with oversight of marketing, communications and broadcasting.
He joined NDSU in 1999 as the assistant director of marketing and has served on the athletic department's senior management team since 2000 as an assistant, associate and senior associate athletic director.
Goergen was appointed to the Fargo Dome Authority in the spring of 2008. It oversees the operation of the 19,000-seat Fargodome, a multi-purpose facility home to Bison football, concerts and trade shows. He holds the vice president position on the board and is chair of the building committee.
He is co-director of the widely successful statewide USDA public relations campaign "Eat Smart. Play Hard." and has received the Fargo-Moorhead Advertising Citation of Excellence and the NDSU Staff Recognition Award.
Prior to coming to NDSU, Goergen was the general manager of the Southern Minny Stars Baseball Club in Austin, Minn., from 1997-99, and a marketing consultant for the Minnesota Health and Fitness Consultants in St. Paul, Minn., from 1996-97.
A native of Adams, Minn., Goergen earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mayville (N.D.) State University in 1996.
Troy's wife, Sonya, is the marketing, public relations and recruitment coordinator for the NDSU Graduate School. They reside in Moorhead, Minn., with their daughter, Olivia, and son, Gabe.
