Border States congratulates Lauren Gietzen, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Gietzen, a senior from Bismarck, N.D., won the pole vault event, clearing 12-11.75 (3.96m), at UC Riverside on Saturday. After placing 4th in the pole vault at the Summit League Championships a season ago, clearing 12-11.00 (3.94m), Gietzen hopes to conclude her NDSU career with another strong performance this spring. She has a 3.887 GPA in nursing.
