South Dakota State Shuts Out North Dakota State

BROOKINGS, S.D.--South Dakota State hit .411 as a team and swept past North Dakota State 30-24, 30-17, 30-25 in college women's volleyball Saturday, Oct. 30, before a crowd of 452 at Frost Arena.

Kim Bostrom led the Jackrabbits (14-11) with 15 kills.  She hit .750 with no errors in 20 attempts as SDSU picked up its fifth straight three-game win.  Carley Boll had 11 kills and hit .444 for the Jacks, and Kristina Martin added 10 kills.

North Dakota State (6-17) made only 35 digs against the hot Jackrabbit attack--14 of them by setter Emily Luensmann, who had 37 assists to complete her eighth double-double of the season.

Offensively, the Bison got a team-best 11 kills from Lindsay Shockman, who hit a career-high .474 with only two errors in 19 attacks.  Sheila Parrish added 10 kills.

NDSU remains winless after six matches against fellow Division I independent programs; the Jacks are 3-1.

North Dakota State is scheduled to travel again next weekend for four matches in Texas.  The Bison open that trip on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Texas Southern.  First serve is at 7:30 p.m.
