Second-Half Scoring Run, Cold Bison Shooting Give Drake Men Exhibition Win over North Dakota State

Box Score

DES MOINES, Iowa--Drake went on a 19-5 run early in the second half and held North Dakota State to 28 percent shooting after the halftime break to pick up a 65-49 men's basketball exhibition victory Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Knapp Center.

Drake forward Pete Eggers made back-to-back layups to break a 30-30 tie and give the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish.  Eggers' 3-pointer with 13:53 left gave Drake a 47-35 lead and the Bulldogs rolled from there.

North Dakota State enjoyed a 41.4 to 36.7 percent shooting advantage in the first half but could not pick it up after the break.

Andy Kelchen finished with a team-high 14 points for the Bison, while David Erbes put in 13 and Myron Green added 10 for the Herd.  Erbes had a game-high 10 rebounds to complete a double-double and was 5-for-8 at the free-throw line.

North Dakota State is scheduled to open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 19, at Kansas State.  Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum.
