FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team won for the seventh time in its last eight games, holding on for a 69-68 victory over Northern Arizona in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge on Saturday night.

Trevian Carson posted his first double-double of the season to lead the Bison, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds and three steals.
Markhi Strickland scored 16 points for NDSU, and
Damari Wheeler-Thomas added 10.

Sophomore forward
Treyson Anderson registered eight points, eight rebounds, and a pair of blocks.

NDSU (7-3) led for 26 of the game's 40 minutes. After falling behind 9-0 over the first six minutes of the contest, the Bison battled back to pull ahead 21-15 on back-to-back three-pointers by Carson. NDSU never trailed again.

The Lumberjacks cut the margin down to one possession 12 different times in the second half, but the Bison never relinquished the lead.

NDSU shot 41 percent for the game compared to 46 percent for NAU, but the Bison pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

It marked the second straight season the Bison went a perfect 2-0 in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

The Bison go back on the road next week, playing at CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 11 and at Drake on Dec. 13.
