Box Score

ROCHESTER, Mich.--Oakland University went on a 21-0 run to start the second half and the Golden Grizzlies rolled to an 82-56 men's college basketball win over North Dakota State on Monday, Dec. 20, before a crowd of 1,335 at OU's Athletics Center O'Rena.

North Dakota State, which slipped to 4-6 overall, led 34-33 at halftime before the Golden Grizzlies (1-7) employed an aggressive full-court press and jumped ahead 54-34.  Andy Kelchen's layup at 14:16 ended the spurt.

Oakland led for nearly the entire first half.  The Bison went ahead with a 3-pointer by Brandon Smith with 3:28 left before intermission.

NDSU used its perimeter shooting to claw back from an 11-point OU lead midway through the first half.  Adam Dobmeier hit back-to-back 3-pointers around the 10-minute mark and the Bison added three more treys before Smith lifted the Bison to their first of two brief leads.

Dobmeier finished 4 of 7 from behind the arc and scored a team-high 12 points.  He also had six rebounds and four assists.  David Erbes added 10 points for the Herd.

Oakland's Brandon Cassise led all scorers with 22 points in his first start of the season.  Cassise was 7-for-13 from the floor including 3-for-8 from the 3-point arc and 5-for-6 from the foul line.

The Golden Grizzlies also got 17 points and seven boards from forward Cortney Scott, and another 10 points and five rebounds from guard Kris Krzyminski.

North Dakota State is scheduled to return to action Wednesday, Dec. 29, against Wisconsin-Green Bay in the Oneida Bingo & Casino Classic at Green Bay, Wis.
