Obadina's Only Basket Lifts North Dakota State Past Southwest Minnesota State

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Dotun Obadina scored his only basket of the game on a layup with five seconds left Tuesday to lead North Dakota State to a 68-67 win over Southwest Minnesota State.

The Bison (7-11) trailed 67-62 with 2:22 left, but Phil Hahn and Myron Green both sank a pair of free throws as time wound down to set up Obadina's heroics.

The Mustangs (7-13) went on an 11-4 run at the end of the first half to build a 36-29 advantage, but North Dakota State answered at the beginning of the second half with a 10-2 run to take back the lead.

Southwest Minnesota State regained the lead at 46-44 on a 3-pointer by Elijah Starzl at the 13:39 mark and held it until the last few seconds of the game.

Starzl, who was 4-for-4 from 3-point range, had 22 points to lead the Mustangs, who shot 52 percent from the field. LaRon Dawn added 15 points and Nic Hogan 12.

North Dakota State's David Erbes led all scorers with 23 points and had a game-high nine rebounds. Green finished with 17 points and Hahn with 13.
