ST. LOUIS, Mo.--This week's Missouri Valley Football Conference Players of the Week are running back Geno Blow of Illinois State (98 yards, 2 TDs vs. Murray State), linebacker Ramon Humber of North Dakota State (11 tackles, 1.5 sacks at Wyoming), and Youngstown State's De'Angelo Wilson (punt return for TD, 95 return yards vs. Central State). The announcement was made Sunday by the conference office.
Offense
RB Geno Blow, Illinois State, Jr., 5-11, 195, Seabrook (Texas) Clear Lake
Blow led the Illinois State rushing attack, which collectively scored five touchdowns and ran for 235 yards. He finished with 98 yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns, his first two of the season. With Illinois State leading 14-10, Blow helped put the Redbirds in control with his 1-yard touchdown plunge in the third quarter. He added his second with a 18-yard run at the 3:57 mark in the fourth quarter.
Defense
LB Ramon Humber, North Dakota State, Sr., 5-11, 222, Brooklyn Park (Minn.) Champlin Park High
Humber led the defense with 11 tackles including seven solo stops and career-high 1.5 sacks in North Dakota State's 16-13 loss to Wyoming. It was his sixth game with double-figure tackles. The Bison held the Cowboys to 266 yards of total offense and 4-of-14 in third down conversions. Humber is No. 5 all-time at NDSU with 105 solo tackles. He currently leads the Bison with 27 tackles, four quarterback hurries and 2.5 sacks.
Special Teams
CB De'Angelo Wilson, Youngstown State, Sr., 5-10, 195, Sacramento (Calif.) Mesa Verde High/transfer from Nevada
Wilson returned five punts for 95 yards, including a 39-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter in the Penguins' victory over Central State on Saturday. YSU led 14-0 before Wilson's return put the game out of reach with 2:52 left before halftime. He also had a 38-yard return in the third to set up another touchdown. Wilson's touchdown was the first punt return for a score by a Penguin since Jason Perry in 2006 against Indiana State. With his 95 yards, Wilson now has 379 career punt return yards in just 15 games at YSU. That total ranks third in school history. He has 32 returns in his career.
