
Breske Named Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs Coach; Camp Named Linebackers Coach At North Dakota State

North Dakota State University head football coach Craig Bohl announced today Mike Breske has been named defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach and Charlie Camp has been named linebackers coach.
Breske, who has 28 years of coaching experience including three national championships, comes to NDSU from the University of Wyoming where he served as assistant head coach/defensive coordinator and secondary coach for head coach Joe Glenn from 2003-08.
Wyoming won the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl against UCLA. The Cowboys' defense consistently ranked among the leaders in NCAA and Mountain West Conference defensive statistics.
Prior to heading to Laramie, Breske was the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator and secondary coach for Glenn at the University of Montana from 2000-02. The Grizzlies won the 2001 NCAA Division I-AA national championship, national runner-up in 2000 and a quarterfinalist in 2002. He was part of three Big Sky Conference championships.
Mike Breske Breske was the defensive coordinator for the University of Northern Colorado's powerhouse teams from 1987-99. The Bears won the 1996 and 1997 NCAA Division II national championships and advanced to the playoffs seven times during his tenure. His coaching resume also includes stops at Wayne State (Neb.) College, where he was defensive coordinator from 1983-87; Yankton (S.D.) College, where he was secondary coach and head softball coach from 1982-83, and the University of Northern Iowa, where he was a graduate assistant from 1981-82.

Breske played cornerback for South Dakota State University (1976-80), where he earned second-team all-North Central Conference honors in 1979 and 1980.
A native of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Breske earned his bachelor's degree in health, physical education and recreation from South Dakota State in 1981. He received his master's degree in physical education from UNI in 1982.
He and his wife, Tami, have three children, Cari, Adam and Taylor. They also have one granddaughter, Mikayla, and one grandson, Bryson.
Camp comes to North Dakota State from University of Nevada, where he coached the Wolf Pack's inside linebackers in 2007.
He spent two seasons at San Jose State University where he coached the defensive ends in 2006 and the outside linebackers in 2005. In 2006, Camp helped the Spartans to an appearance in the New Mexico Bowl, the team's first bowl invitation since 1990.
In his 12th year as a coach, Camp spent two seasons at Oregon State University (2003-04) and one at his alma mater, the University of Arizona (2002).
Camp began his coaching career in 1997 as an assistant coach at Sahuarita High School in Tucson, Ariz. Camp then went to the University of Idaho as a graduate assistant in 1998. He was promoted to assistant coach that year and stayed with the Vandals for the 1999 season. Camp then went to San Diego State for two years (2000-01) before his two stints in the Pacific-10 Conference. Camp has also furthered his career with National Football League internships with the Miami Dolphins in 2002 and the San Diego Chargers in 2001. Charlie Camp

A four-year starter and letterwinner at inside linebacker at the University of Arizona, Camp was a member of Dick Tomey's "Desert Swarm" defense from 1991-95. He led the team in tackles as a senior.
Camp was a three-time winner of a "Bear Down" Award for superior effort and achievement. He spent the 1996 with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
A native of New Orleans, La., Camp earned his bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at Arizona in 1997. He and wife, Heidi, have a daughter, Alyssa.
NDSU completed the 2008 season with a 6-5 record including a 4-4 finish in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Bison open the 2009 season at Iowa State University on Sept. 3.
