COLLEGE STATION, Texas - North Dakota State senior Matt Bishoff became the first Bison men's track and field athlete to earn Divison I All-America honors as he finished 11th in the heptathlon at the NCAA Divison I Track and Field Championships with a score of 5,423. He was the sixth place American and the top eight Americans earn All-America honors. Oregon's Ashton Eaton won the event with a score of 5,988.
Going into today's action, Bishoff was in ninth place with a score of 3,058. The final day of the heptathlon kicked off with the 60 meters hurdles. Bishoff came in 13th in 8.66 seconds. In the pole vault, he tied for eighth by clearing 15 feet 5 inches. In the final event, the 1,000 meters, he finished 14th in 2:54.15.
Bishoff was the first Bison to ever qualify for the NCAA Division I Championships.
