FARGO, N.D.--North Dakota State University placed four players -- linebacker Chad Willson, cornerback Marcus Williams, nose guard Leevon Perry and strong safety Colten Heagle -- on the 2010 Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer team. The all-newcomer team was selected by
the head coaches, sports information directors and media, and announced Wednesday.
In addition, fullback Drew Hushka, kicker Ryan Jastram and tight end Matt Veldman, were honorable mention on the 2010 MVFC All-Academic team.
Northern Iowa quarterback Tirrell Rennie was selected MVFC Newcomer of the Year and Youngstown State quarterback Kurt Hess was the MVFC Freshman of the Year.
Willson, a 5-foot-11, 221-pound junior from Layton, Utah, made an impact right from the first game after transferring from Snow Junior College. He has led the Bison in tackles over the past five games including a season-high 13 at Missouri State (11-20-10). Heagle has recorded 48 of his 57 tackles over that span including 6 tackles for loss.
