ELMHURST, Ill.?North Dakota State's Amy Anderson was named the Summit League Women's Golfer of the Year on Thursday, June 17, by a vote of the league's 10 head coaches.
Anderson, a freshman from Oxbow, N.D., led the league by more than two strokes with a 74.0 average and finished the year ranked 50th in the nation in scoring. She was the league's Newcomer of the Year and an All-Summit League first team pick.
Anderson was the Summit League tournament runner-up and was an individual at-large qualifier for the NCAA West Regional, where she tied for 17th place and missed the national tournament by three shots.
Anderson was NDSU's top finisher in all 10 team events. She set school records for lowest 18-hole round, 36-hole tournament and 54-hole tournament, and her five tournament victories are an NDSU single-season and career record.
Western Illinois senior Kyle Peterman was named Summit League Men's Golfer of the Year. Peterman led the league with a 71.5 average and ranked 28th in the nation in scoring. He tied for 16th place in NCAA regional play.
North Dakota State completed its third season in The Summit League with a sixth-place finish at the league championship in April.
