
Volleyball Rolls Past UMKC, 3-1

FARGO, N.D. - Brynn Joki had 17 kills and 12 digs and Brooke VandenBergh added 16 kills and 11 digs to lead North Dakota State to a 25-9, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21 victory over UMKC in Summit League women's volleyball Saturday, Sept. 11, before a crowd of 962 at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Chrissy Knuth had 13 kills and five blocks for NDSU, which improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the league with its 39th straight Summit League victory. UMKC fell to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the league.
NDSU setter Jennifer Lopez made 51 assists as the Bison outhit UMKC by a .282 to .108 margin. Lopez hit a team-high .316 with eight kills.
Libero Andrea Henning made 18 digs and Nicole Sheridan made a career-high 14 digs for NDSU, passing her previous high of six digs two years ago. The Bison outdug UMKC 70-63.
Elizabeth Beck had 15 kills for UMKC and libero Nicole Kerkman made a career- and match-high 27 digs for the Kangaroos.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host North Dakota at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the opening match of the NDSU Doublewood Inn Classic. UND is 8-3 after a loss to Utah State on Saturday night.
