Bison Split on First Day of Iowa State Challenge

AMES, Iowa - The North Dakota State women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Iowa State Challenge on Friday, Sept. 3, at Ames High School.
Chrissy Knuth had 12 kills and Lauren McLaughlin made 22 digs to lead North Dakota State to a 25-17, 23-25, 18-25, 25-19, 15-7 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the first match of the day.
Knuth was one of four players in double figures for the Bison (1-3). Megan Lambertson had 11 kills and three blocks, Brooke VandenBergh had 11 kills and 10 digs, and Brynn Joki finished with 10 kills, 14 digs and four service aces.
Joki had five of her team-high 11 kills in the fourth set of a 25-11, 21-25, 25-14, 25-17 loss to 12th-ranked Iowa State in the evening match.
NDSU libero Andrea Henning had a team-high 16 kills and setter Jennifer Lopez had 15 digs and 28 assists.
Victoria Henson had 22 kills to lead Iowa State (3-1).
Jena Berg had 10 kills, 25 assists and 17 digs for Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2-4), which lost in three sets to Iowa State later in the afternoon.
