DES MOINES, Iowa - Angela Bys had 16 kills and Alana Wittenburg made 25 digs to lead Drake to a 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-15 victory over North Dakota State in college women's volleyball Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Knapp Center.
Bys completed her fifth straight double-double with 12 digs for the Bulldogs, who improved to 8-0. North Dakota State dropped to 2-4.
Jennifer Lopez had 13 kills, 23 assists and 15 digs for NDSU. It was her ninth collegiate triple-double.
Megan Lambertson added 10 kills and Lauren McLaughlin had a team-high 18 digs. Jordan Kissman made 17 assists and Andrea Henning made 14 digs for the Bison.
NDSU had a 6-5 edge in total blocks, including five by Janna Deyle.
Drake made eight more digs and 10 fewer attacking errors in the match. The Bulldogs outhit NDSU by a .217 to .155 margin.
North Dakota State is scheduled to open Summit League play against Southern Utah on Friday, Sept. 10, and UMKC on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
