Box Score FARGO, N.D. - Taylor Braun scored 21 points and North Dakota State shot a season-high 64.4 percent in a 96-69 rout of Oakland in Summit League men's basketball Wednesday, Dec. 28.
A crowd of 3,544 was on hand at the Bison Sports Arena as North Dakota State (9-3, 2-1) handed Oakland (8-7, 2-1) its fourth-worst loss ever in Summit League play.
NDSU's Mike Felt scored 16 points off the bench including four second-half 3-pointers and TrayVonn Wright had 15 for the Bison, who had five players score in double figures.
Dylan Hale made 4 of 4 from the arc for 12 points and Lawrence Alexander notched his first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.
Hale had back-to-back 3-pointers to give NDSU a 15-5 lead five minutes into the game. That was part of a 17-0 run and the Bison never looked back.
NDSU got a tip-in from Wright in the closing seconds to take a 50-30 halftime lead, and the Bison shot 70 percent in the second half.
North Dakota State had a 37-25 rebounding advantage and went 12-for-20 from the 3-point line compared to 4-for-21 for Oakland. OU went 23-for-30 at the foul line while the Bison were just 8-for-12.
Reggie Hamilton scored 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half for Oakland. Hamilton, one of the nation's top five scorers, was 7-for-20 from the field and 7-for-7 at the foul line.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host IPFW at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30. The Mastodons are 7-5 overall and 1-2 in The Summit League after a 94-58 loss at South Dakota State on Wednesday.
