Box Score FARGO, N.D. - South Dakota native Michael Tveidt scored a game-high 17 points and Taylor Braun added 15 points and 12 rebounds as North Dakota State beat South Dakota State 84-61 in Summit League men's basketball Friday, Feb. 25.
A season-high crowd of 4,136 was on hand at the Bison Sports Arena as NDSU (14-14, 8-10) snapped a three-game losing streak and beat SDSU for the 10th straight time.
Nate Wolters scored a team-high 14 points for SDSU (18-11, 10-8) despite missing his first 10 field-goal attempts. Wolters was 9 of 11 from the foul line.
NDSU trailed 2-0 before scoring 19 unanswered points to break the game open early. SDSU got back within six twice late in the half, but the Bison got back-to-back dunks from TrayVonn Wright and Eric Carlson to go up 35-22 at the break.
The Bison started the second half on an 11-2 run and the Bison led by at least 20 most of the second half. The biggest lead was 28 on a 3-pointer by Mike Felt that made it 64-36 with 9:45 left in the game.
Felt canned four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, and Marshall Bjorklund added 14 points and seven rebounds for NDSU. The Bison had a 48-30 advantage in total rebounds.
NDSU shot 50 percent from the field compared to 32.8 percent for SDSU. The Jackrabbits went 4-for-27 in the first half for 14.8 percent.
Jordan Dykstra scored 12 points and Brayden Carlson had 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds off the bench for SDSU.
North Dakota State will play either No. 1 seed Oakland or No. 2 seed Oral Roberts in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament at either 6 or 8:30 p.m. next Saturday, March 5, at Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, S.D.
NDSU would be the No. 7 seed for the tournament and face Oral Roberts if regular-season league champion Oakland wins at Southern Utah on Saturday night.
