Box Score SHREVEPORT, La. - Marshall Bjorklund
scored a career-high 22 points and Taylor Braun added 18 points and a
career-high 10 rebounds to lead North Dakota State to an 83-63 win at Centenary
in Summit League men's basketball Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Gold Dome.
North Dakota State snapped a five-game road
losing streak and improved to 12-10 overall and 6-6 in the league.
Centenary lost its 29th straight game to drop to 0-24 overall and 0-12 in the
league.
Bjorklund had a game-high 10 points at
halftime, but NDSU only had a 32-27 lead at the break. The Bison used an
11-0 run to lead by as many as 14 points before Centenary closed the half on a
13-4 run.
Jonathan Blount's three-point play at the
17:53 mark of the second half got the Gents within 38-34, but NDSU answered
with a Bjorklund basket and two layups from Braun to go back ahead by double
digits.
NDSU shot 60 percent in the second half and
committed only one turnover after halftime.
Eric Carlson scored 14 points for NDSU, Michael Tveidt had
11 of his 13 points in the second half, and Mike Felt scored 10 points
off the bench. Freddy Coleman tied a career high with seven assists.
NDSU had a 40-19 edge in total rebounds,
including 18 on the offensive end with six from Braun, five from Bjorklund and
four from Carlson.
Maxx Nakwaasah was 11-for-12 at the foul line
and led the Gents with 17 points and six rebounds. Leo Davis and Jeron
Trotman scored 10 points apiece.
North Dakota State is scheduled to play Oral
Roberts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Okla.
ORU is 10-14 overall and 7-5 in the league after a 77-73 win over South Dakota
State on Thursday.
