Box Score BOISE, Idaho--Boise State University scored the game's first nine points and led by as many as 24 in an 80-61 win over North Dakota State University in a non-conference women's basketball game played Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Taco Bell Arena.
North Dakota State (2-1) is scheduled to host Northern Iowa (1-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Bison Sports Arena. UNI plays South Dakota on Thursday.
Lauren Lenhardt and Brandi Hinton each scored 12 points as the Broncos (2-0) shot 52.8 percent from the field to take a 49-34 halftime lead. Lenhardt connected on 9 of 11 field goals overall on her way to a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Boise State led by as many as 24 points in the second half, the last time at 70-46 with 8:33 left on a Lenhardt three-pointer.
Dani DeGagne led NDSU with 19 points, while 5-foot-11 freshman Marena Whittle scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to record her first collegiate double-double. Katie Birkel was held to four points, but contributed six assists.
Boise State shot 47.8 percent from the field compared to 28.2 percent for the Bison and held a 51-45 rebounding advantage.
North Dakota State did pick up 21 offensive rebounds including seven from Whittle. The Bison committed only eight turnovers.
