Box Score FARGO, N.D. - Taylor Braun had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead North Dakota State to a 95-51 win over Omaha in the Summit League men's basketball opener for both teams Thursday, Nov. 29, before a crowd of 2,576 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Braun tied a school record with seven 3-pointers made and NDSU finished one shy of its team record going 15 of 25 from the arc. The Bison shot 58 percent overall to improve to 6-2 overall.
TrayVonn Wright and Marshall Bjorklund had 14 points apiece, Lawrence Alexander scored 13 and Chris Kading chipped in 10 points off the bench for NDSU.
Justin Simmons scored 14 points, Matt Hagerbaumer added nine off the bench, and Alex Phillips had eight points and four rebounds for the Mavericks, who dropped to 2-6 overall.
NDSU closed the first half on a 9-0 run to take a 49-30 halftime lead. Braun was 4 of 4 from the arc and had 16 points and five rebounds at the break. He tied the record of seven 3-pointers last tied by Mike Felt in January 2011 against Centenary.
North Dakota State returns to non-conference play next Wednesday, Dec. 5, when the Bison play Morehead State at 7 p.m. EST in Morehead, Ky. The Eagles are 4-3 heading into Saturday's game at Wright State.
