
Fourth Edition of Bison Showcase Highlights Events for Spring Football Game Weekend

The
North Dakota State University athletic department announced the lineup of
events for the annual spring football game weekend April 20-21. (Updated April 17, 11 a.m.)
The fourth edition of the Bison Showcase, for fans 21 years and older, will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. on Friday, April 20 at the Fargodome.
This year's showcase will feature a silent auction, prizes and a preview of the year-end review DVD. The cost of the event is $20 and includes a commemorative glass mug, food and entertainment. Hilton Garden Inn will cater for the evening. Tickets can be purchased by calling (888) 231-NDSU (6378) or by visiting GoBison.com/Tickets.
The Silent Auction items include a Roundtrip ticket from Travel Leaders; tickets to a Minnesota Timberwolves game; passes to WeFest; NDSU national championship merchandise; tickets to Fargo Force and FM RedHawks games, and rounds of golf from Thumper Pond and Osgood Golf Courses. On Saturday, April 21, the Athletic Department will open up the tailgating lots to get fans in the mood for the upcoming season. Lots are free and open to the public. Tailgating will open at 9 a.m. Reserved spots will open 30 minutes prior. Spaces are on a first come, first serve basis. The tailgate lots will close at 4 p.m. As a reminder from the Fargo Fire Department, no fire pits are allowed at tailgating. Team Makers will also be on hand for the 50/50 raffle.
Famous Dave's will sponsor a BBQ on Saturday in the tailgating lot from 10:30 am–Noon. For only $7, fans can get a BBQ pork sandwich, beans, coleslaw, and a drink. All proceeds benefit NDSU Athletics Scholarships.
The
sixth annual locker room sale will also take place at the Fargodome from 9
a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. A variety of surplus sporting goods will be
available for purchase.
The
weekend's events culminate with the Green and Gold Spring Football game
Saturday in the Fargodome. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and fans can enter through the south
doors or east doors. The Spring game will start at 1 p.m. and give
fans the first look at the 2012 squad. Admission is free. Fans can have their picture taken with the 2011 NCAA Division I FCS National Championship trophy before the game.
The 2011 Bison football team will be honored prior to the game for its FCS National Championship. The first 3000 fans through the door will receive a commemorative Bison FCS National Championship poster.

The Green and Gold Spring Game is sponsored by Radio Fargo Moorhead.
North Dakota State University's annual Green-Gold spring football game will be televised live statewide on the North Dakota NBC Sports Network for the first time in the program's history.
Stations on the
North Dakota NBC Sports Network include KVLY-TV (Channel 11, Fargo),
KFYR-TV (Channel 5, Bismarck), KMOT-TV (Channel 10, Minot), KQCD-TV
(Channel 7, Dickinson) and KUMV-TV (Channel 8, Williston).
Coverage begins with a pregame show at 12:30 p.m. April 21 from inside the Fargodome. Valley News Live sports director Dan Hammer will handle the play-by-play and former NDSU standout quarterback Kevin Feeney will serve as color analyst.
The game will also be broadcast on 790 KFGO-AM, Fargo and 102.5 KDVL-FM, Devils Lake. The radio broadcast starts at 12:55 p.m. Scott Miller will call the play-by-play, Phil Hansen will handle the color duties and Jeremy Jorgenson will be on the sidelines.
