CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - North Dakota State junior quarterback Brock Jensen threw for a career-high 243 yards, and the Bison defense forced three turnovers in a 33-21 win over Northern Iowa in the UNI-Dome on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Top-ranked NDSU earned its eighth consecutive road win and its ninth straight victory overall.

Sophomore John Crockett rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns to help the Bison kick off their Missouri Valley Football Conference schedule with their first victory in Cedar Falls since 1976. Crockett used 19 carries to become the first Bison this season to surpass 100 rushing yards in a game.

Crockett scored on a three-yard run late in the second quarter and from six yards early in the third. Jensen added 243 yards passing, including a 19-yard touchdown to Kevin Vaadeland in the fourth quarter, for the Bison (4-0), who haven't lost a road game since the 2010 season.

The Panthers (1-4, 0-2 MVFC) pulled within 20-14 midway through the third quarter when Sawyer Kollmorgen hit Wes Smith for a 27-yard score. Later, though, Kollmorgen threw an interception to set up Vaadeland's first career touchdown.

Kollmorgen added a 20-yard TD to Terrell Sinkfield in the final minute and finished with 213 yards passing, while David Johnson had 85 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Ultimately, NDSU outgained UNI 419-285 and owned a plus-three turnover margin for the game.

Jensen posted new career highs in passing yards (243) and attempts (31) and matched his career-best 22 completions in his performance against UNI last season. He moved up to No. 2 on the NDSU all-time list for completions (347), passing Tony Stauss.

NDSU's Adam Keller made four of his five field-goal attempts, including a career-long 43-yarder late in the third quarter. He tied the school record for field goals made (4), previously set by Ken Kubisz vs. Augustana in 1983, and field goal attempted (4), previously set by Shawn Bibeau at Minnesota in 2006.

Safety Bryan Shepherd and linebacker Grant Olson each recorded six tackles to lead the Bison defense. Sophomore linebacker Travis Beck registered 2.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble in the game.

Junior cornerback Marcus Williams reeled in his second interception of the season and the 13th of his career, tying him for third all-time at NDSU.

The Bison will host Youngstown State on Saturday, Oct. 6, for Homecoming. Kickoff is slated for 1:04 p.m. in the Fargodome.
