FARGO, N.D. – Senior forward TrayVonn Wright scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the North Dakota State men's basketball team to a 74-59 win over South Dakota State on Saturday afternoon in front of 5,614 fans at the Bison Sports Arena.

NDSU improved to 21-6 overall and 10-2 in The Summit League, clinching at least a share of the league's regular season title. Saturday's crowd was the largest at the BSA since Feb. 17, 2009, when 5,790 saw the Bison beat SDSU.

SDSU (16-11, 8-4 Summit) entered the game alone in second place in the league standings. Cody Larson led the Jackrabbits with 11 points.

The Bison shot 26-of-48 (54.2 percent) from the field and limited SDSU to 19-of-58 (32.8 percent shooting). NDSU improved its season field goal percentage to 50.5 percent, leading all of NCAA Division I this season.

NDSU senior Marshall Bjorklund tallied 18 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Lawrence Alexander had 12 points and five assists for the Bison.

NDSU never trailed, racing out to a 16-5 lead just over nine minutes into the game and stretching its lead to 33-18 at halftime.

The Bison led by as many as 20 points at 46-26 with 14:31 remaining, but the Jackrabbits rallied to pull within 10 twice in the game's final four minutes.

NDSU will host South Dakota on Thursday, Feb. 27, and Denver on Saturday, Mar. 1, next week to close out the regular season. One more victory by the Bison would win the Summit League regular season title outright for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
