NDSU & DuPont Pioneer Announce Floor Naming Rights

Fargo, ND, March 16, 2014 – North Dakota State University (NDSU) announced today that DuPont Pioneer is making a significant investment to support agriculture and students at the University via the "Building the Competitive Edge" campaign. The investment includes floor naming rights at the new Sanford Health Athletic Complex - Scheels Center.
"The scope and impact of exceptional support from DuPont Pioneer signals the importance of this project to not just NDSU but to our local and statewide community. A collaboration like this between one of our leading agricultural firms and our state's top-ranked research university illustrates what becomes possible when we bring our resources together in advancing North Dakota," said NDSU president Dean Bresciani.
The expansion and renovation of the existing Bison Sports Arena, set to begin in spring 2014, will transform the facility and the surrounding area, known as the Sanford Health Athletic Complex, into a true Division I athletic complex. Additionally, it will serve as a "front door" venue welcoming student-athletes and campus guests with the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame, Hall of Champions and various fan services and facilities.
"We are proud to support NDSU, a great institution which plays such a pivotal role in offering world-class agricultural and science-based education," said Patrick Yockey, northern business director at DuPont Pioneer. "We are pleased to support NDSU which has and continues to play such an important role for many of our customers, sales reps and staff," said Yockey.
Scheels Center will seat more than 5,700 fans for basketball, and the Nodak Mutual Insurance Company Basketball Training Facility will feature two courts on the southwest corner of the existing structure. The west-side addition and renovations will house human performance facilities, including strength and conditioning, sports medicine and rehabilitation areas, and an academic center for student-athletes. The newly built Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility opened for training and competition in December 2012.
