Lillejord Earns Second Consecutive Summit League Indoor Field Athlete of the Year

ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Andy Lillejord has been named the Summit League Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, as voted on by the league's head track & field coaches.  
 
This is Lillejord's second consecutive Summit League Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honor. He also earned Field MVP honors at the league's Indoor Track and Field Championships in each of the last two seasons.
 
The Jamestown, N.D., native won the long jump title at the league championships and was leading the heptathlon after day one of competition but was forced to withdraw due to injury. He finished the regular season ranked 13th in the nation in the heptathlon and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, but was unable to compete due to injury.
 
Lillejord tied for a league-high two Athlete of the Week awards and finished the season atop the league in the heptathlon (5,628 points), pole vault (17-01.50/5.22m) and long jump (24-04.25/7.42m).
