Stoudt Finishes Fourth at UC Riverside Spring Classic Decathlon

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – North Dakota State redshirt freshman Angus Stoudt scored 6,265 points to finish fourth in his first decathlon for the Bison men's track & field team at the UC Riverside Spring Classic on Friday.
The transfer from Northern Iowa posted the third-best marks in the decathlon field in the 110m hurdles (15.39 seconds) and javelin (159-7) on the second day of competition. Stoudt moved up one spot in the standings from fifth place after Day One.
Bison redshirt freshman Grant Mjelstad placed sixth with 6,092 points. He topped all decathlon competitors in the pole vault with a mark of 15-05.00 (4.70m).
NDSU freshman Matt Neururer finished seventh in the decathlon with 5,930 points, closing with an outstanding time of 4:29.19 in the 1500m to take first in the field.
Wyoming's Kyle Sullivan won the decathlon with 6,772 points.
On Saturday, March 29, the field events begin at noon with the women's shot put, while the track events start at 3 p.m. with the women's steeplechase. The last event of the day is the men's 4x400m relay scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
