FARGO, N.D. - Three-time defending FCS national champion North Dakota State unveiled its new green home jersey at the team's annual media day activities Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
The new NDSU jerseys feature two highly technical fabrications. The upper front and back is a high tenacity fabric called cordura, a moisture management fabric consisting of an 86% nylon and 14% spandex fiber content. Inherently the term "cordura" is associated with strength. The mechanical knitting of this fabric is consistent with what is necessary for the high level collisions football players engage in.
The sides and lower front and back of the jerseys feature stretch mesh. This is also a moisture management fabric with a fiber content of 92% nylon and 8% spandex. This fabric embodies significant stretch to support the shrink wrap fit today's player's desire.
The jerseys also have a unique pattern to allow for optimal range of motion. A smaller upper shoulder panel allows the jersey to fit tight on top of the shoulder pads. Seams on the front and back torso area along with two seams on each side of the jersey facilitate a snug fit so the athlete cannot be grabbed. A contrasting color lycra/spandex neck, not a standard option, will be used on both of these jerseys.
Just like NDSU's white jerseys introduced in 2013, the new green jerseys feature the Bison Bold letter and number font. This is exclusive to North Dakota State University. No other Division I, II or III University will utilize this font.
The NDSU new game football pants feature a moisture management 92% nylon and 8% spandex fabric. The durability of this fabric is unmatched for football pants. 200% stretch is afforded to allow for full range of motion. The flyless design eliminates the cumbersome task of constantly tying a drawstring.
North Dakota State will unveil its new gold jersey at the Bison Block Party on Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Scheels parking lot on 45th Street South in Fargo.
